Finally super prekernel is here which helps you to make increase the stock frequency of Palm Pre from 500Mhz upto 800Mhz. Following is the description of the what the kernel is all about :

With a single click of an install button, Super Prekernel app allows the user to replace CDMA-GSM Palm Pre or Palm Pre Plus stock frequency of 500 MHz to 550 or 600MHz choices using a modified LunaSysMgr patch. Remarkably within the same app, replacement of the existing WebOS1.4 kernel with higher frequency choices of 720 or 800 MHz Kernel mod is also possible through a single click install process. Only one frequency for obvious reasons is allowed at one time by the app. A simple 500 MHz Stock Pre is transformed faster than a speeding cpu to Super Pre Kernel! For those who don’t enjoy travelling faster than a certain speeding cpu frequency, the kernel mods and patches may again be transformed back to stock frequency through a single click uninstall process.

Palm Pre is having a 500 MHz processor but that didn’t stop the modders caj2008 (Jeff) and unixpsycho (Marco), to create the 720 MHz and 800 MHz kernels for OS 1.3.5.1 on the Palm Pre. Precorder is a Palm Pre app homebrew Pre community. Its in alpha stage but does the job well if you want to record a video on Palm Pre.

Video streams are available in Mpeg-4, H.263, H.264/AVC and for audio you have the options from AAC, AMRNB, MP3. The video containers are either mp4 or 3GP.

In all its a pretty handy Free video recording app for Palm Pre and you can have fun with it. More updates should be coming on the app in later time. For downloading/installing the app, check out it official webpage.

As it was expected, a unlocking solution for Palm Pre is here. Currently the solution is available in form of hardware using Rebel Simcard II available at the price of £10.99($17.95/around 850 INR). You can learn all about the rebel simcards unlocking solutions from their official website.

Let be honest here this is one of the amazing Palm Pre hacks which came our way. Zodttd is a name which is pretty popular in the iPhone gaming screen. And now he seems to be showing interest in Palm Pre as well. He bought the Palm Pre jailbreaked it and installed his Playstation 1 project psx4all, which lets you play playstation based games on mobile devices.

And it worked like a charm on Palm Pre as well. Below is the video which shows the game running on Palm Pre :

Landscape Mode In Palm Pre Email App

Another tweak surfaced in the Palm Pre, where you can use the screen in Landscape mode in Email app. Just type “RocknRollHax” on the keyboard while you are in email app and you will be presented with a landscape view. Please note the the code needs to be exactly as stated above including the capitalization.

So have fun with the code. Although I am not sure whether it will make any difference for writing emails as there is no on screen keyboard and writing emails with Palm Pre keyboard on a landscape screen can pretty difficult .
