Guys from precentral.net did some tweaking around in the WebOS 2.0 and found that there is a hidden on-screen keyboard inside the new updated OS. Its looks and behaves kinda buggy but pretty sure it will be part of next Web OS update which might include a tablet release as well
.

HP(new owners of Palm) are selling unlocked Palm Pre 2 directly from their website at a price tag of $450. Pretty nice deal if you ask me for owning a unlocked device like Palm Pre 2. In case you were looking forward to buy one for yourself, this is the time. The unlocked Palm Pre 2 can be bought at Official HP Store.
Having a first gen Palm Pre or Pixi and missing out all the action on WebOS 2.0 update, well you might just be in luck. Speaking at a HP’s webOS Developer Day Josh Marinacc, broke the news that webOS 2.0 update will be rolled out to all webOS devices in coming months. Pretty good news for all early adopters, you can check out the whole conference video below :

As rumoured earlier that Palm is working on multiple webOS devices, here is more info on the same. Apparently somewhere in the webOS code buried are references to new devices(roadrunner is Palm Pre 2) :
if ((machineType.contentEquals(“broadway”)) ||
(machineType.contentEquals(“windsor”)) ||
(machineType.contentEquals(“mantaray”)) ||
(machineType.contentEquals(“stingray”)) ||
(machineType.contentEquals(“roadrunner”)))
{ this.flasherLogger.logPrintln(“temporarily not
restoring logs for newer devices”);
So, pretty good days ahead for webOS fans like me and you
. Will update as more news comes out on this.
Guys from PhoneArena.com were able to get their hands on Palm Pre 2 prior to its public release. The Palm Pre 2 is although is not a complete overhaul from its preprocessor but it does shows improvements in areas like Camera, Display, Sliding Mechanism. Do check out the video embedded below which shows Palm Pre 2 in action :
