Palm Pre Launch Vs iPhone Launch

June 12th 2009 | Posted by

This is the thing I have been talking about all these days, Palm was not pushing hard on creating a big hype for Palm Pre before its release. Anyways some hints do point that Palm wanted it to be a low key affair of some sorts and all because of that we had a following situation :

Well as mentioned by others, Apple marketing hype machine is much better than Palm. Plus iPhone was a revolutionary device which changed the face of mobile industry forever. And Apple is having a excellent line of highly successful other products also unlike Palm which was/is currently struggling with their old product lineup. But with Palm Pre release I hope the things will change.

Deepak ji,
Welcome back. Was wondering where you’ve been.
Hey, cnet reports that the battery life is pretty darn short. I was kinda worried about that. . .
For me, this is a critical issue. You think palm will do anything to rectify this?

Hey tigerpalm,
Nice to see you again :-) . Actually the server where the blog is hosted was hacked, and it went down for around 3 days. They kept telling that it would be up in few hours but it took the fix to complete in 3 days. Couldn’t do much in that time. But now everything seems fine.

About the battery life, well all i can say that it depends on how one use, in most of the review I came across its mentioned that its not great but battery life gives a decent/normal performance. If someone is seeing drastic low times, then there must be something wrong in the battery. Over all the battery shouldn’t concern you much until you are doing some heavy browsing on it. Plus its a removable battery, so you can keep a spare unlike iPhone. But yes Palm is noticing people complains but there are not much details on whether its a hardware or firmware issue. I will dive more into this and see what i can come up with.

Again thanks for visiting and apologies for the 3 days blackout on the blog :-) .
